Within a few kilometres of Najac there is a wide variety of points of interest, Roman bridges, abandoned copper mines and bastide towns such as Villefranche-de-Rouergue and Cordes-sur-ciel. The months of April, May, June, September and October are recommended for hiking. Birdwatching here is excellent. Canoeing, climbing and other sports are also available. River swimming is a must and safe for all ages.

Najac is well connected by train. There are daily services to and from Toulouse, Villefranche-de-Rouergue, Figeac, Rodez and Paris.
